Parece ser que a mediados de este mes sale a la venta el "Mastering Arabic 2". Lo digo para quien esté interesado, como es mi caso.
Por lo que tengo entendido incluirá, entre otras cosas interesantes, muestras de diálogos en distintos dialectos árabes, según propias palabras de uno de los autores del libro, Jane Wightwick:
[quote:6b63ef72c6]We are posting to ask for your help in collecting colloquial Arabic podcasts.
We are the authors of a well-known textbook for beginners, Mastering Arabic, and are writing a second level to be published in May 2009. Each unit of the second level ends with a feature focusing on a different region of the Arabic-speaking world. As part of this feature, we are including an audio sample of regional dialect. This is to give the learner a taste of how the different spoken dialects sound, in contrast to the more standard Arabic taught in the rest of the course.
The podcasts are short (around a minute long) with the speaker talking briefly about himself/herself, job, family, hobbies etc in his or her dialect. We would also need a transcript and translation (which even native speakers might need for some of the dialects!).
We have collected a number of dialects but are still looking looking urgently for podcasts from native speakers of the following dialects:
Tunisian
Yemeni
Jordanian/Palestinian
Libyan
IraqiAll podcasts used in the final pubication will receive an acknowledgement in the course, and all contributors would get a complimentary copy of the complete Mastering Arabic 2 book and audio CD pack (worth £35) from Palgrave Macmillan on publication.
The podcasts can be produced on your home computer and together with the transcript and translation shouldn’t take more than an hour or two of your time. If you think you could help, please leave a message here or send me one via facebook and we can provide further guidance.
Thank you in advance for your help.
